Riot Games has opened a Hall of Fame in League of Legends. The first player to be inducted into the LoL Hall of Fame is the four-time world champion and “unkillable demon king” Faker. The South Korean will first receive a Mercedes for €195,000. An in-game event will also be held in his honor.
What kind of Hall of Fame is this?
Faker becomes the first player in LoL’s Hall of Legends
This is the first one: The first LoL player in the Hall of Fame simply had to be Faker, who won his fourth World Championship in 2023 and is widely considered the greatest and most important player in LoL.
With a video celebrating his achievements, it was announced on May 22 that Faker will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on June 14:
South Korean is honored with German luxury car
The video includes some eulogistic words from the President of Esports at Riot Games, who explains that Faker’s name is synonymous with excellence in LoL.
A spokeswoman for Mercedes from Germany, Sales Chairwoman Britta Seeger, also says that Mercedes is happy to be involved in e-sports. It is an honor to be the official “automotive” partner of the Hall of Legends.
That is his price: Riot Games has a collaboration going on and so Faker also gets a special gift, a custom-made Mercedes-AMG SL 63. It is worth around €195,000.
By the way, the German Twitch streamer MontanaBlack drives a Mercedes SG63-AMG, a similar model.
As Dot Esports reports, it is now assumed that the Ahri skin that Faker wanted for his victory at LoL Worlds 2023 will be presented as part of his induction into the LoL Hall of Fame.
What’s happening now? Faker will receive an in-game event with cosmetic items that “represent the greatest achievements of his career.”
The event will also have an event pass. Faker and T1 will receive a percentage of sales.
After it was pretty clear that Faker would be the first to enter the Hall of Fame, one can now speculate who the second LoL player will be and when the first player from Europe or North America will make it. It is now quite difficult to find a candidate: The biggest European player is kicked out of his team shortly before the new LEC split and is replaced by a rookie
