Especially in the English -speaking countries you are annoyed by the restriction. Riot Games wants to pacify religions that do not endure if someone drinks something. That takes the “creative fun from the game” and shows how internationalization can go wrong. If necessary, you have to stop using such a market if you have to change the international version.
Apparently, the players, especially countries such as Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, have suspected of limiting the glorification of alcohol through gragas.

The Chinese group Tencent is the mother company of Riot Games. Tencent are said to have excellent relationships with the Chinese government.
