LOL IRL is a French entertainment show and spin-off of the famous LOL: who laughs, comes out, broadcast since 2021. This adaptation will be streamed on Prime Video in 2025.
2021, in a world depressed by COVID, a new entertainment show is arriving to put a smile on the faces of viewers: LOL, whoever laughs, comes out. It is presented by Philippe Lacheau and produced by Endemol. The concept of the show is very simple: ten comedians are gathered in the same room and must stay there as long as possible. The only rule? Avoid laughing at all costs. The ten players will therefore try to provoke laughter from their opponents, but also to keep their seriousness.
The concept of this already cult show comes to us from Japan and has already conquered many countries such as Australia, Mexico and Canada and spin-offs have already seen the light of day, like LOL: IRL. The difference: this will no longer take place in a closed room, but in the street! For the moment, Prime Video has not announced a release date or the comedians in the cast, but the show will be presented in streaming during the year 2025.
What is the concept of LOL: IRL ?
We take the same ones and start again… But we change the scenery! Philippe Lacheau will this time host a show which will be filmed directly IRL (In real life: in real life)! The players, always comedians and comedians, will compete this time in “ordinary” public places such as supermarkets, parks or the street. Their mission? Make passersby laugh. Hidden cameras oblige, these passers-by do not know that they are participating in a program to guarantee natural reactions. The two artists who get the most laughs after six hours of play will win a place in the final!
