Logging into World of Warcraft takes forever for some people. However, this is not a bug, but actually a feature.
The pre-patch for World of Warcraft: The War Within is here. It brings with it many new features and improvements. But some players who want to log in can only grit their teeth in dissatisfaction. Because logging into the game sometimes takes forever.
The reason for this is not a bug or problems with the realms, however. Instead, it is the new mega feature, Warbands, which simply needs more time to process all the data.

Why does logging in take so long? Blizzard had already warned about this in advance on the official WoW website. When you log into the pre-patch of The War Within for the first time, your entire account will be converted. All data for all characters will be combined in the warband so that your account can then benefit from all the advantages.
However, this process is quite resource-intensive. Blizzard has warned that the conversion process can take up to 20 minutes and that there may also be queues when logging in.
The reason for this is that World of Warcraft has to pull the data from all of your characters and process it. The more characters you have, the longer this takes – and if they are spread across many different realms, it takes even longer.
So if the login takes longer today, don’t get upset and keep a cool head. Because it’s probably exactly this conversion process that needs to be carried out once so that you can enjoy all the benefits afterwards.
Is everyone affected by this? No. Some seem to be able to log in after just a few seconds, while others have to wait longer. This seems to depend on how many characters are on an account and how busy the login process is. Early in the morning, logging in was relatively quick, but the later it gets and the more WoW accounts try, the longer the process seems to take.
