(Finance) – The US Navy has awarded Sikorsky, a company of the US giant Lockheed Martina 2.7 billion contract of dollars to build and deliver 35 additional CH-53K helicopters. This is the largest procurement to date for this multi-mission aircraft.
“The award of this contract for 35 CH-53K helicopters stabilizes Sikorsky’s national supply base, creates further production efficiencies and provides the United States Marine Corps with transformative 21st century technologies,” said Paul Lemmo, president of Sikorsky.
The deal includes 27 aircraft for the Marine Corps And 8 aircraft for Israel. Sikorsky will begin delivering these aircraft in 2026.
