While the volcano near the town of Grindavik on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula has continued to spew lava since yesterday, the lava reaching the town from the volcano was viewed from the air.
While the main road in the evacuated town was closed due to lava flow, a house caught fire yesterday due to lava flow.

After the fifth explosion on the Reykjanes Peninsula since 2021, the alert level in the country was raised to the “emergency” level, indicating that there may be a threat of harm to people, communities, property or the environment.
There are 32 active volcanoes in Iceland, which is located between the two largest tectonic plates in the world, the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.
