Some local girls were joined by their mothers, grandmothers and friends at a ‘Swiftie Par-Tay,’ held at Mrs. Bell’s Tea Room on Saturday that featured food along with making friendship bracelets and a card and, of course, Taylor Swift music.

After reading how difficult and expensive it was to get a ticket to the wildly popular Eras Tour, Wanda Bell, owner of Mrs. Bell’s Tea Room, figured there were a lot of local kids who wanted to attend Swift’s concert tour.

“Here’s a ticket they can afford,” she laughed about creating the event.

There were some big Taylor Swift fans in the house who not only like the pop star’s music, but who she is as a person.

“I like Taylor Swift because she helps people and donates to charities some of the money she makes,” said Berkeley Beatty, 8, of Dresden.

When it comes to Swift’s music, Berkeley added, “I like how it’s based on her life and tells stories about her.”

Sophia Hunter, 10, of Chatham, said, “I like how she has unique songs and how she’s so nice to everyone.”

She also likes how Swift is so great at performing her music.

Raquel Rose, 10, of Sarnia, likes the variety of Swift’s song because “they’re different and not all kind of the same.”

She also likes Swift’s stage presence.

“She’s really dramatic in a good way,” Raquel said.

Eight-year-old Lucy Andersen, of Chatham, is inspired by Swift’s talent.

“I want to be a singer and she’s one of my favorite singers,” she said.

Lucy is also impressed with how Swift plays guitar on some of her songs and “she also sings at the same exact time.”

Paisley Jenner, 7, of Charing Cross, likes Swift’s music and says ‘You Belong With Me’ is her favorite song, because it is a good dance song.
