Korkmaz himself does not want to explain why he made that choice. According to VVD faction leader André van der Padt, VoorBaarn’s coalition agreements with GroenLinks, PvdA and D66 play a role. He says that Korkmaz feels more at home with the ideas of the liberals. Moreover, says Van der Padt, he opts for the stability of a national party. “Muhammed wants to continue to develop in politics and sees more opportunities for this with us.”
