Norfolk and Brant counties, along with the City of Brantford, are getting funding for municipal transit.
Norfolk is getting $9,900; Brant, $35,000 and Brantford $812,000;
The money is being delivered through Phase 4 of the federal-provincial Safe Restart Agreement.
The funding will help municipal transit systems address costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Municipalities will be able to use their funding to cover revenue losses, operating expenses and provincial transit priority projects, including fare and service integration and on-demand transit.
The money builds on the more than $2 billion in funding dedicated for municipal transit systems provided by the federal and provincial governments since 2020.
A total of 107 Ontario municipalities received Phase 4 funding.
