Members of the Chatham-Kent Asian Cultural Association are preparing for a Diwali celebration later this month.

The event for the Hindu holiday, also known as the festival of lights, will be held Saturday at Ursuline College Chatham, 85 Grand Ave. W.

The event is free from 6:45 pm to 10 pm, but dinner will be held beforehand from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
The dinner requires a pre-order and payment by 8 pm on Nov. 14. The meal is $15 for adults, $10 for children and free for children in school below Grade 7.

The free portion of the event will feature community programs for children, Bollywood dances from the Varnaah dance group in London, bhangra dance performances from Shaan Punjab Dee dance school in Brampton and music from Ajax’s DJ Niam.
