The Brant Community Healthcare System on Wednesday reported four people in hospital with COVID-19. with none in critical care.
That’s the same number as Tuesday.
Of the patients admitted to hospital, 122 have been unvaccinated for a rate of 593.85 per 100,000 people while 150 have been vaccinated for a rate of 134.53/100,000. In ICUs, 16 people were unvaccinated for a rate of 77.88/100,000 and 18 were fully vaccinated for a rate of 16.14/100,000.
Also on Wednesday, the Brant County Health Unit reported 20 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, however, that number is likely underreported because of limited testing.
Since the pandemic began in March of 2020, 8,682 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Brantford-Brant, with 8,495 of those resulting in recovered cases.
There are currently 121 active cases in the community but that number is also likely underreported.
There have been 66 COVID-19 deaths reported since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 321,855 total doses of the vaccine administered at vaccination clinics in Brantford-Brant. In Brantford-Brant, 83.15 per cent of residents aged five and older have received one dose of the vaccine, while 79.86 per cent have received two or more doses.

• And Paris Fairgrounds, Thursday, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

The only outbreak in the area is at John Noble Home (Mohawk Terrace), which was declared on March 14 with two residents and one staff member infected.

As of Monday, there were 24 active cases on Six Nations of the Grand River and a total of 30 people are in self-isolation.
Two people from Six Nations are currently hospitalized with the virus.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 1,539 confirmed COVID cases on Six Nations.
Exact numbers are not available but 55 per cent of the population has received a dose of the vaccination, with 50 per cent competing in their vaccination series.
There have been 24 COVID-19 deaths on Six Nations of the Grand River since the start of the pandemic two years ago.
On Wednesday, Public Health Ontario reported 611 people in hospital and 174 people in intensive care.
The province reported 2,149 new cases over the past 24 hours although that number is likely underreported.
There were 13 net new COVID-19 deaths reported on Wednesday and there have now been 12,356 deaths in the province since the start of the pandemic.
