During the Parkinson Boxing Lessons at Boxing School Sedney in Zeist, the participants forget for a moment that they are ill and boxing on the go. The boxing lessons can improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s, explains boxing gym owner Eugène Sedney. “Through the boxing lessons, without physical contact, the participants with Parkinson’s improve their strength, endurance, flexibility and speed. In addition, the participants have to do double tasks during boxing, something that people with Parkinson’s have a lot of trouble with. Boxing slows down the Parkinson’s process a bit.”
