Lived completely isolated – until a ladder saved them

On a remote cliff in the Sichuan province there is a village with only a dozen inhabitants. Klippbyn, as it is called, is 1,400 meters above sea level.

The thin population has struggled hard with poverty as they have been isolated from the outside world.

For the children in the village, it has been a struggle to get to and from school – via ladders and slippery rocks. But in 2017, an investment was made in infrastructure in the village, when a ladder was built that stretched all the way down from the cliff. It also came with a mobile mast, which means that the residents today have access to the 5G network.

Several of the people in Klippbyn, who only had a distant dream of being able to work, now make a living from online shopping.

– My customers are all over the country, says Muguo, who is one of those who live on e-commerce via live streaming.
