Whoever wins tonight, it will be the sixth time in this century that an amateur club has qualified for the quarter finals of the KNVB Cup. Previously, Quick Boys, Noordwijk, GVVV, JVC Cuijk and VVSB succeeded. Quick Boys and Noordwijk, just like Katwijk, did not encounter any professional clubs on their way to the last eight. GVVV, JVC Cuijk and Spakenburg eliminated at least one professional club.
