08.05 am Police satisfied with King’s Night

The police speak of a flawless course of King’s Night in the city of Utrecht. The atmosphere was pleasant almost everywhere, with only a ‘marginal disturbance’ here and there. According to a police spokesperson, the number of arrests last night was ‘countable on one hand’ and therefore ‘negligible’. “On a normal night out, there are dozens of arrests.”

Around 10 p.m., together with the municipality, a call was made not to come to the city center anymore. It was very busy in the center at the time. According to the police, it did not get busier after that call. “Maybe because everyone who was already in town at the time had already arrived. And maybe that call also helped.”

07.16 am Utrecht free market

Started last night, last night all night and of course today. Then we are of course talking about the Utrecht free market. The traditional sales party has been canceled for the past two years due to the corona crisis, so some sellers have extra items for sale this year.
