Ricardo van Rhijn (33) played for Ajax and AZ, among others, and even played eight times in the Dutch national team.
Melvin Platje (36) was a professional at Volendam and NEC, among others, and played for a number of clubs abroad, including Stade Brestois, which won against PSV in the Champions League last week.
Three AFC players have a past with a top amateur club in the province of Utrecht. Gévero Markiet and Djuric Ascension also played for IJsselmeervogels. Joël Tillema played one season for Spakenburg. Goalkeeper Gijs van Zetten played in the training of FC Utrecht.
