Utrecht – Utrecht today is completely dominated by the Canal Pride. A total of 49 colorful boats sail along the canals to celebrate the freedom of love.
The boats started at 13:30 from Bartholomei Bridge. After 2 p.m. the boats passed under Hoog Catharijne. Then the boats go along the Monicabrug, the Vliebrug, the Hamburgerbrug to the end point at the Ledig Erf. The parade ends around 6:00 PM.

11:06 AM COC Central Netherlands: ‘On average twelve reports per month’
The position of LGBTI+ people is still faltering. That is what Laura van Nieuwenhuijze of COC Central Netherlands says. The organization receives an average of 12 reports per month. “Exclusion, bullying, discrimination and physical violence hit very hard and are also a low point for us,” says Van Nieuwenhuijze. “Sometimes things go well and you take a lot of steps forward, and sometimes you take steps back too.”
When asked where that wave motion comes from, she does not answer. “We can’t put our finger on that either. We will continue to draw attention to it. Actually, every day is Pride for us.”
