  • In the 800m heats, Gabriel Tual qualified for the semi-finals by winning his heat.

Live

12:40 – Hugo Hay well qualified

We end this session with good news, despite the appeals of the federations, the Frenchman was not found guilty of the pile-up in his series. Arriving 7th, he goes on to the 5,000m final on Saturday evening.

12:40 – The repechage for Corentin Le Clézio

Despite a great finish, Corentin Le Clézio finished in 4th place and will also be in the repechage.

12:37 – Robert 4th in the series

Benjamin Robert will be in the 800m repechage, finishing in 4th place.

12:21 – Sedjati quiet

The Algerian easily won his 800m series, making him the best world performer of the year.

12:06 – Gabriel Tual wins his series

Frenchman Gabriel Tual, reigning European champion and 3rd best world performer of the year, won his series.

11:54 – The 800m series

Time for the 800m heats with the highly anticipated Gabriel Tual, one of the rare medal chances for athletics.

11:54 – Three failures for Tamberi

Qualifications are over for Tamberi with three failures at 2.27m, he should still go through to the final.

11:52 – Barshim passes 2.27m

Incredible scene as Barshim finally clears his bar at 2.27m, but collapses again after the jump. The high jump final promises to be very strange.

11:47 – Schrub eliminated

Once again, a fall disrupts the end of the 5000m. Schrub, who started well, finally finishes in 11th place and will not be in the final.

11:41 – Barshim’s injury!

Oh, what a blow in the high jump competition with Barshim stopping in his run-up on his first attempt and appearing injured.

11:38 – Tamberi fails at 2.27m

The Italian failed on the first bar at 2.27m! The competition is getting crazy even if Tamberi should pass with his previous attempts.

11:34 – Beware of disqualifications

It is difficult to say with certainty whether Hugo Hay will be in the final after this big fall. On France 2, he indicates that the Englishman accuses him of having made him fall.

11:27 – Hugo Hay 7th

Hugo Hay finished in the top 8 and will be in the final, however this is not the case for Jimmy Gressier who finished 9th.

11:26 – Many falls on the 5000

Very strange scenario in this 5000m with numerous falls, notably of the Olympic vice-champion before a big fall of four runners in the final straight.

11:20 – Hugo Hay and Jimmy Gressier lead the dance

For the moment, Hugo Hay and Jimmy Gressier are leading this 5000m but the race is still very long.
