Putin met soldiers’ mothers

Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a staged meeting with carefully selected mothers of soldiers fighting in Ukraine, reports The Guardian.
Many in the Russian public have been angered by the military mobilization. With the mothers’ meeting, Putin wanted to reassure the people.
But the newspaper has been able to identify three of the mothers and believes that none of them are really critical of the war.

Iranian military adviser killed in Ukraine
An Iranian military adviser has been killed in Crimea, which is occupied by Russia.
According to Ukraine’s National Security Council, the Iranian personnel were in Crimea to assist Russia with armed drones.
Oleksiy Danilov, representative of the Ukrainian Security Council, is now warning, saying that other Iranians who are on occupied territory in Ukraine will be seen as targets in the conflict, reports The Guardian.

Ukrainians are evacuated to the west
Residents of the recently liberated Kherson region are offered evacuation to western Ukraine, as the harsh conditions in the area make it difficult to live there during the winter, reports the site Current Time.
