Live Action Zelda Movie Announced

Following the Super Mario movie, Nintendo announced that it will make a live-action movie adaptation of the cult video game The Legend of Zelda. The Zelda movie, produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, will be directed by Wes Ball.

Wes Ball is in the Director’s Chair for Zelda Movie

Nintendo’s film initiatives continue, and the company has brought in Wes Ball, known for the Maze Runner series, to direct the live-action Zelda movie. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Nintendo’s popular game, Super Mario Bros. will be released this year. He will sit in the producer’s chair in the Zelda movie, as he did in the animated movie. Miyamoto will bring the film to life together with famous filmmaker Avi Arad.

In his statement on the old Twitter platform named X, Miyamoto underlined the great importance of the project by saying, “We have been working on the live action movie of Zelda with Avi Arad for many years.” However, he added that completing the project would take time and require patience.

Sony and Nintendo Join Hands

While details about the film remain a mystery, it has been stated that Nintendo will undertake more than half of the financing and will finance the film together with Sony.

Nintendo’s desire to expand more widely into the entertainment industry is known. This announcement is considered part of the company’s vision, following the Super Mario movie and theme park attractions.
