Little knowledge, many prejudices: ‘I sometimes hear that I cannot have albinism’

Little knowledge many prejudices I sometimes hear that I cannot

Albinism is a hereditary, genetic disorder in which the production of pigment is disturbed. This causes a reduced or complete absence of pigment in the skin, hair and/or iris of the eye. Pigment protects against UV radiation, which means that people with albinism, for example, burn faster, see less well and have an increased risk of skin cancer.
