The book had a resounding success in Sweden, and it has just been published in France by Robert Laffont editions. Stoldby Ann-Helen Laestadius, sheds harsh light on the condition of the Sami, this nomadic people spread across the borders of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia.
The Sami were long called “Lapps”. A term that the people reject because it has a negative connotation. “Stöld” means “theft” in Swedish, reindeer theft in this case, but the discrimination of which the Sami are victims goes much further.
