Linn Svahn’s new future statement says everything about her as an athlete – puts her foot down firmly: “I don’t like it”

Linn Svahn has returned to the top of the world again.
But the Swedish ski star still doesn’t enjoy it to the full.
– I don’t like this, the 24-year-old admits to Expressen.

It has been an absolutely fantastic ski season too Lynn Svahn. After having to fight in the dark for two long years with injury problems, operations and rehabilitation, she finally gets to show her great capacity again.

Svahn’s success

During the Tour de Ski, things really loosened up for the 24-year-old who took his very first World Cup victory in over 1,000 days and then it was just a matter of riding off. The winning races were lined up and all of a sudden Svahn was in the fight for the overall World Cup victory.

For the first time in a long time, she was able to give her all in the tracks without setbacks and was a great liberation for the Swedish sprint specialist. Linn Svahn only missed a single race at the World Cup, rode a total of 43 competitive races during the season and won the overall Sprint Cup and came second in the overall World Cup.

Linn’s future word

Finally, she is back at the top of the world in cross-country skiing again, but she is not fully enjoying it. Because Linn has always protected her private life alongside her sports career and she intends to continue with that.
– Before, sports were about you standing out and performing from start to finish – and that was enough. But that is no longer the case. Now there should be headlines about everything on the other side. And I’m a bit against that, she tells Expressen.

Therefore, she looks forward to returning to a life of anonymity again after her sports career is over.
– Mmm, that’s how I want it. Not that I will move to a cabin in the wilderness, I will always want to meet people. But… I don’t like this “if you can’t be seen, you don’t exist” society, she says in the interview.

But as a 24-year-old, there are still several years left in her skiing career before Svahn can get what she wants and be forgotten. She really puts her foot down and is clear that when the boots are put on the famous shelf, she will breathe out and move on in life.
– When you are an elite athlete, you are so inwardly self-centered. It’s just “me, me and me”, that “I’m going to do this, I’m going to do that – and absolutely shit on everything else”. And everyone has to adapt to you, she says to the evening newspaper.
– It’s not that cool. It is rather selfish. So I’m looking forward to a life that isn’t governed by me going fast on skis. Where everything should revolve around me.
