Linn Svahn’s honest opinion about Norwegian star Kristine Stavå’s Skistad

Linn Svahn hopes that Kristine Stavås Skistad recovers quickly after her stomach operation.
She has a special wish for the Norwegian this winter. She wants the rival to be as strong as possible in time for the world championship next year.
– I hope she is in the shape of her life at the WC, she says to Sportbibeln.

They came first and second respectively in the sprint cup last year. Lynn Svahn24, and Kristine Stavå’s Ski City25, are undeniably two of the world’s best and fastest sprinters and they will have many tough duels against each other this season as well.

Sadly for the Norwegian, she may have to wait a while to make the annual premiere. She has undergone stomach surgery recently and it is unclear when she can be back on the ski track.
– The operation has gone according to plan and Kristine is now looking ahead to the highlight of the year, the WC in Trondheim. She will spend the coming weeks on rehabilitation, training, and will return to competition when she is ready for this, said the Norwegian national team doctor Ove Feragen to NTB on 12 November.
– She will not come to Beitostölen and certainly not to Ruka. Then we have to make an ongoing assessment about when she can be back, he continued.

One person who is really looking forward to measuring his strength with Stavås Skistad this year is Linn Svahn. Together with Jonna Sundling is she the Norwegian’s absolute biggest rival this highly interesting WC year.
– It will be fun to play against her, says Svahn to Sportbibeln.

Svahn’s words about Kristine Stavås Skistad

The Norwegian has really gone under the radar for many this summer. She is described as “mysterious” in the Norwegian media and she has not trained with her national team mates during the pre-season. Therefore, Linn Svahn is extra anxious to see where she is – especially given that she did not compete in the Beitostölen last weekend.
– You are always excited to see how your competitors are and what they have done during the summer. Extra fun when you have no idea about her status. You can have a feeling about people you train with or people you see have competed – you have no idea, but I think she will be great, she says.

She says that she really wants and hopes that the 25-year-old is in really good shape when they stand side by side during the WC. Her somewhat unexpected wish is that the Norwegian is better than ever in Trondheim, because it’s fun to compete when everyone is as good as possible.
– That’s what’s fun. I hope she is in the shape of her life at the WC.

How is Kristine as a person, would you say?
– I don’t know her that well. But it might actually be fun then. A bit of a contrast to some of the rest of us who you know just as well, says Linn.

There are many of us who hope that things go well for you this season, Linn. Hey hey! Show those Norwegians what you mean.
