Kristine Stavå’s Skistad has gone on a nightmare mission.
At the same time as secrecy grows around the 25-year-old.
Now sprint rival Linn Svahn gives his honest view of the Norwegian.
On Tuesday, the shocking news came for the Norwegian skiing star Kristine Stavå’s Ski City with only a few weeks left until the World Cup premiere in Finnish Ruka. The sprint specialist has been forced to undergo stomach surgery and will miss the season opener of the World Cup.
Stavås Skistad is missing
It is still unclear when Stavås Skistad can return to the ski tracks again. But that only increases the secrecy surrounding the 25-year-old.

For several seasons, she has been completely missing from the Norwegian national ski team and has chosen to train on her own. After last season, it was announced that Kristine would join the national team again, but she has not yet been seen at training or national team camps.
Linn Svahn’s words
Instead, the Norwegian ski star has continued with his own plan at home in Konnerud with his personal trainer Created by Sofienlund.
– We have a lot to learn from her and I think she has a lot to learn from us. I hope that in the future we will be able to bring her to gatherings, but we will have to take it at her pace. We have said that “just call if you want to join,” says the national team coach Sjur Ole Svarstad according to the Norwegian newspaper VG.

The Swedish sprint star Lynn Svahn now gives his honest picture of the situation around the archrival.
– I have respect for the fact that she is quite clear about which way she wants to go and she is quite determined about how she wants to do her plan. I respect that and think it’s cool, says Linn to SVT.
– But I also understand the other Norwegians who may be disappointed and not allowed to train with her. Because she is the best athlete they have right now. The only one who won a world cup last year.
Svahn fought many duels against Stavås Skistad last season and the Swede drew the longest straw by winning the overall sprint cup. She understands that it can cause irritation that the Norwegian does not train with her national team colleagues and compares it to the situation in the Swedish national ski team.
— It’s still a shame to miss out, it’s a bit the opposite of how we are in our national team. There are probably five or six who took a World Cup victory last season and we can train together on a daily basis, at home. It’s quite luxurious and I like it.
