Linn Svahn’s clear message about the Norwegian rival Therese Johaug – now gives an answer to speeches before the winter: “It does not attract”

Linn Svahn has dominated in sprints.
But now a certain Therese Johaug is making a comeback.
Then the Swede gives an answer to talk about the Norwegian rival.

The Swedish skiing star Lynn Svahn is getting ready for a new ski season and for the first time in a long time she can enter the winter completely injury free. It will mean a lot for the 24-year-old who dominated the sprint races last season.

Svahn’s great success

Svahn really made a big success last winter when she returned to the top of the world again after two really hard years. First she took her first World Cup win in over 1,000 days and then she lined up victories after the New Year.

Linn took home the overall Sprint Cup in superior style and finished second in the overall World Cup standings on the women’s side. But now she will be chasing her very first individual championship medal this coming winter, where the Skiing WC 2025 in Trondheim is the big goal.

Johaug back

But a big problem has appeared on that front, and her name is Therese Johaug. Now Linn Svahn is responding to speeches and does not see the Norwegian ski queen as a direct rival and she hopes to avoid her on the ski tracks.
– I think we will probably be a bit extreme from each other. I will not stand on the starting line for a five-mile at the WC as the situation is now. And maybe that will be her parade branch this winter. But I absolutely believe that I will meet her at competitions and it will be exciting, says Svahn to Aftonbladet.

Johaug will very likely put most of his weight on the distance races and therefore not prioritize the sprint races too much. Unlike Linn Svahn who will put the most effort into the sprint races and she is not particularly likely to be the skier who wins at all distances.
– There is probably some super combination there that comes up once every hundred years. There are a few who succeed in it but I don’t think I will succeed in it. The level is so high that you can’t be half-good at everything and expect to win a competition. If you want to be good at something, you can be really good at it, but then you will be a little worse at something else. For me, a five-mile freestyle doesn’t attract that much yet, she tells the evening newspaper and doesn’t see herself becoming a dominant in the distance.
– No, not the way I am built and trained now.

The Swedish ski star still aims to compete as much as possible next season and does not intend to do like many others, namely to opt out of the Tour de Ski.
– I see it as I usually get pretty good from competing a lot and I want to compete a lot. That was a focus last year: to do as many races as possible and get that toughness. I think I raced as much last year overall in the season as I have in all my World Cup seasons combined. Then I think I will have to make some adjustments to the competition schedule throughout the season, but I have not thought that I will remove the tour, Svahn announces in the interview.
