After 607 days, an injury-free Linn Svahn was finally on the ski trail again.
But the long absence brings with it certain complications.
The Swede has lost his shaving point – and now the Swedish Skiing Association is working hard to change that.
Lynn Svahn made a comeback on the ski slopes the previous weekend after 607 long days. The injury that kept her out during the period fortunately did not resurface, but there were other clouds of worry in the sky for the newly turned 23-year-old.
“We demand that…”
In the sprint in Idre fjäll, she started third last, among the worst riders. The reason behind it is that the Swede has lost ranking points as she has not competed for a long time.
– We found out about it on Thursday and our national competition coordinator has been working, we tried to make an exception with the competition coordinator at Fis, but we were informed already before the weekend that it was considered that the regulations could not be changed, says the cross-country manager Lars Öberg to SVT Sport.

The Swedish camp has therefore sent in an application to get the International Ski Federation to make an exception, as Linn Svahn risks a shorter rest due to her late start time.
– I also sent in a formal request for Fis to make an exception to the rules and they are processing it now, the outcome of that is not something I can say anything about now, Lars Öberg said on Monday and adds:
– We demand an answer before the weekend.

Can start last
Not enough with shorter rest. In theory, Linn Svahn could also be allowed to start last in a mass start based on the current ranking point, which would mean that she is significantly slowed down by worse riders who start before her.
– She will be able to go to the World Cup, the debut in Idre now brings opportunities, but on the other hand her starting position will be affected, but for every competition she goes, her ranking will improve quite quickly, says Öberg and refers to a scenario where Sweden’s application would not go through through.
