Linn Svahn has been ill and missed the last World Cup competitions in Lillehammer and Davos.
Before the selection for the Tour de Ski, it has been very quiet about the sprint star, who previously told Sportbibeln that she likes to drive.
On Thursday, it will be announced which Swedish riders will be on the tour.
So far this season has not been so successful for Lynn Svahn25. She was there during the World Cup premiere weekend in Finnish Ruka. But once there, it was a tenth place in the 10 km classic, a seventeenth place in the 20 km free and a surprising exit from the quarter-finals in the sprint.
Linn Svahn has had a cold
Svahn had the third-fastest qualifying time in the Ruka sprint, but in his quarter-final heat, disaster struck. The Norwegians Ane Appelkvist Stenseth and Hedda Östberg Amundsen came into a curve wrong and pushed Linn Svahn off the track. She ended up in 26th place.
– I think it was a patch of ice (that the Norwegians drove over). Then there was a domino effect. I flew straight into the forest, said the Swede afterwards.

After the chaos weekend in Ruka, Linn Svahn caught a cold which kept her away from the competitions in Lillehammer and in Davos. In other words, her loading before the Tour de Ski has not been completely optimal. The Swedish squad will be taken out on Thursday at 1 p.m. – it remains to be seen if she has gotten over her cold and if she is ready to compete again. Probably there is no danger, as long as she doesn’t get sick again.
Svahn reveals his plan to the Sports Bible
Svahn has previously told Sportbibeln that she would like to be on the tour this year. During this somewhat strange season, all skaters have their own strategies to find their top form in time for the WC in Trondheim February 26-March 9. For some it means a lot of competition, for others it doesn’t.
– That’s what’s fun. Last season was about competing a lot and being good at everything. This year it’s more that everyone wants to be good for a specific week this year. That’s the charm, that you get both. Not everyone’s path to being good this week is the same. Someone will compete in everything and someone will barely compete, says Svahn to Sportbibeln.

She says that she really wants to take part in all the competitions, but that it is physically impossible this season. Especially if you get a little sick or injured.
– You compete because you love to compete, so it’s not fun to opt out of competitions. But it’s a bit of a sacrifice you have to make. “Do I need it to be good that week? Then maybe I will do it,” she says.
At the same time, she reveals how she herself thinks and reasons now during the beginning of the season. There are just over two months left until the WC. The time until then is very much about preparation.
– I have a small plan. I will compete in everything almost until Christmas. Want to drive the Tour. Then I will select competitions before the WC, she says.
Good luck with the Tour de Ski and all other races this season, Linn. Not least, we are keeping our fingers crossed for you in the WC next year, when we hope you win your first championship medal. Hey hey!
