It was the first World Cup victory this season as well as the first in 367 (!) Days for Linn Svahn. Now she breaks the silence as to why she has been missing so much during the winter.
– We have not done the competition preparatory training that we usually use for each season but kept in severe load, to experience every year that I am at my best during the tour or in January. This is where I have my best month and we want to push it out against a championship, give that chance and then I have been on high load into the season and maybe not recovered as you should have done if you got some little unnecessary disease at The wrong opportunity, Linn says in an interview with SVT.
– So I haven’t had a recovery period since it was bare and summer. Still, I always have that. I don’t regret it, because I like to tighten the bow. But I may have been a little bad to feel.
Linn: “Very bad”
It was after the Tour de Ski that tests and evaluations were made, which gave different answers. Therefore, Svahn has not competed at the World Cup until now in Falun.
– I was too bad and didn’t recover. I was overloaded. If I had competed on, the risk was that it had been long lasting and that the season had been driven, she tells the TV channel.

The World Cup recharge has therefore not become optimal for the 25-year-old who chases the very first championship medal in Trondheim in two weeks.
– I have had to start from the situation here now and not think what it would be like in a dream world. But it is clear that I have a very bad look at where I stand. Still, I think there are good trends and many arrows in the right direction. Then we’ll see if I get everything together already in the weekend’s sprint or if more time is needed. But this is an important part of the road, she said before the sprint race on Friday and then she defeated the entire world elite with a real strength message.
