Linn Svahn breaks the silence after great worries – opens up about the historic race with her little sister

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Linn Svahn is back in earnest again.
Now, for the first time ever, she will compete together with little sister Alva.
– I have done everything for this, says older sister to SportExpressen.

She made a huge breakthrough a few years ago, winning the overall sprint cup out of nowhere. But then came two extremely tough years for Swedish Lynn Svahn.

Linn’s absence

The 23-year-old had two seasons ruined due to a shoulder injury, but last Christmas Svahn was finally back in earnest. Then she quickly showed her great potential and immediately impressed to get a place in the Swedish WC squad.

Well during the championship in Planica, Linn impressed again with two fourth places. But then she disappeared again and the worry grew again that there was some new setback.

Little sister Svahn

Now she breaks the silence about what really happened.
– It just really narrowed down. I got really sick, admits Linn Svahn to SportExpressen.
– I was down for a count for two weeks. And it was heavy, immediately in the days after the World Cup I otherwise felt that the form just got better and better.

Svahn thought that the season was completely finished after the illness announcement and has really had to fight to make a comeback to the end of the season with SM in Kalix. Because then a historic race awaits the Swede, who for the first time will compete together with her little sister Alva, 18 years old.
– I have done everything to recover from this. Because I’m going to run a sprint relay with my little sister, says Linn in the interview.

Alva Svahn recently became the new Swedish junior sprint champion and even though she is young, she forms a dangerous duo together with her older sister.
– This is really cool. I think relays in general are the ultimate form of competition – when you’re not just racing for yourself, but also for someone else. And when you now get to drive for your little sister… Then it becomes another dimension. I almost had to pinch my arm during the day, says Linn Svahn to the evening newspaper.
