This year’s ski season was very successful for Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson.
But for the next season, big changes await both skiing stars.
The duo has now made a new decision after getting way too close to each other.
It would be a special ski season in advance. When neither the World Ski Championships nor the Winter Olympics were on the schedule, the focus became full on the World Cup and the Tour de Ski mini-tour instead.
Svahn’s success
Many Swedish cross-country skiers have had to struggle with problems and illnesses during the season but for the duo Lynn Svahn and Frida Karlsson has been going very well. Svahn found his way back to the top of the world again in connection with the Tour de Ski and has since lined up winning races and was long in the fight for the overall victory at the World Cup.

In the end, it was second place behind the American Jessie Diggins but Linn can look back on the season with immense pride for what she has accomplished. Even Frida Karlsson can sum up her very best season at World Cup level and finished in a strong third place in the overall standings.
Karlsson’s words
Due to the championship-free season, both Linn and Frida have focused broadly and have noticed the results. Karlsson has approached Svahn in sprints and the opposite has also happened in the distance races.

But after the duo have become close to each other in a competitive context, there will be a big change for next season. When the ski WC in Trondheim then becomes more specialized for both of them.
– Next year they want to aim for the championship. This year I wanted to have a more stable basic form and develop in sprinting. But for next year, I want to specialize more towards the distances I go for at the WC, says Frida Karlsson to SVT.

Linn Svahn will also go harder for the sprint when the World Cup season begins.
– That is my plan. I have worked very widely this year and it has paid off. But when I have worked specifically in previous years, it has also produced results. I really like to go for something all the way. We will probably figure out the best plan, she tells the TV channel.
