Linn Persson’s setback just before Christmas – the Swedish biathlete reveals his only wish: “Everything I want”

Christmas leave awaits all biathletes.
But it will not be as wonderful and relaxing for everyone.
Linn Persson is now forced to reveal his adversity before Christmas Eve.

For the Swedish cross-country skiers, an intense end to 2023 awaits with the big highlight of the season in the form of the Tour de Ski. It will be considerably calmer for the biathletes, who have competition-free during both the Christmas and New Year weekends.

Samuelsson sick

The break also comes at the right time because, like the national skiing team, the national biathlon team has also been plagued by covid diseases recently. The Swedish WC gold hero Sebastian Samuelsson missed the last race weekend in Lenzerheide due to positive covid test.

But now he is back on skis and published on Tuesday a post on social media that he is training in Seefeld. Instead, another national team skater has been affected by illness.

Persson’s setback

Lynn Persson admits himself what has happened in a post on Instagram. After fighting back from shoulder surgery, she has been competing with a specially made strap during the season opener – but now the next setback is here.

The next Biathlon World Cup competition will take place in Oberhof, Germany between January 4-7. Now Linn is being supported to have time to recover by then.
“Congratulations on a good start to the season considering that you entered the season without optimal conditions. Enjoy the Christmas celebration and good luck after the turn of the year,” writes a user on Instagram.
“Great start to the season. So exciting to follow all you biathletes. Merry Christmas and greetings to mother and father!”, writes another.
“You are a heroine who shoots full of strap and stuff. No worries now, celebrate Christmas and have fun between training sessions. I wish you and yours the best Christmas,” writes a third.
