Linn Persson does not have it easy at all.
Now the Swedish biathlete has been forced into his third operation within a year.
– There will be a long rehab for this operation, she tells Radiosporten.
During the Biathlon World Cup 2023 impressed Lynn Persson big on the entire biathlon world. She managed to surprise everyone and salvage two individual WC medals in Oberhof.
With the Biathlon World Cup 2024 in Nove Mesto, or the entire past World Cup season for that matter, was not at all successful for Persson. On the contrary, it was extremely tough and the Swede had to fight hard to even come close to the top positions.

Before the last season, Linn underwent double operations to get his body in order and above all a problematic shoulder. Therefore, she had to compete with a support strap during the winter, and it hampered her considerably.
Linn’s new setback
The 29-year-old was never better than sixth in an individual race and was forced to retire from the Biathlon World Championships early due to the shoulder again. Recently, she had her third operation in just one year and now another tough rehabilitation awaits.
– What has been done is that I have had a similar operation as last time. The prone shooting affects the shoulder a lot with a shooting strap and then it has been very unfortunate that I got both stiff and inflamed in the shoulder because of it. There was also a trauma to it so it broke again, says Linn in an interview with Radiosporten.
– That’s why we needed to redo the operation.

Now, once again, patience will be the big key for the upcoming pre-season and to get back to the top of the world in biathlon again.
– There will be a long rehab at the operation. But there is also a long way to go until the season and that’s why I broke after the WC, to get more time, she says to the radio channel.

Persson is well aware of what she has to do to rebuild her body so that the coming season is not also destroyed.
– Now it’s about getting the mobility up, because the shoulder is so much stiffer, and then build up the strength again. Hopefully I will get a shoulder that is stable when I ski and in everyday life as well. It remains to be seen, she says in the interview.
