Linn Persson’s new, homemade super solution that will save her season – after the severe pain: “Becomes a little different”

Linn Persson is uncertain about the World Cup premiere.
But with her new, home-made solution, she can return to the track sooner than expected.
– I still think it has gone very well, says Persson to SVT.

Last season did Lynn Persson, 29, his best season of his career. In part, she won three WC medals – a silver in the distance and two bronze in the sprint and relay. The native of Värmland also grabbed two podium places in the World Cup – a second place and a third place, both in sprints.

Linn has hope

Persson achieved this with great pain, and after the season she underwent two surgeries. The 29-year-old had surgery on the groin to support and the shoulder to stabilize. After the procedures, Linn is still working on rehab training, and the hope of a World Cup premiere has been small.

But now Linn Persson opens the door for her to be on the starting line in Idre in November.
– It is possible, but I have to be able to go full speed for three days in a row. Axeln will decide whether it is possible to ride the premiere or not. I can do all the hard interval workouts, but it’s still a bit adapted, she tells SVT.

Persson’s new trick

She can thank her new solution for much of the hope, which has helped Persson with her pain.
– It hurts quite a bit. So we have simply had to find another solution, and it is a type of harness or vest that I will have under the license plate, which will make a ring stick out to attach the hook to just to the side, against the body. There is no ready-made version, but it is something we have sat at home and stitched together, says Linn.

The biathlete hopes to go back to a regular strap during the season, as the harness is a bit more cumbersome, but it is still unclear if that will be possible for her.
– It will be a little different. But I find that when I get right, I still have good stability. It turns out that I have to be very careful with it, and it becomes a different way of shooting because every time I breathe, the sling moves and then the rifle moves. So it takes a little longer between shots, I don’t quite land the dot in the same way as before, so I have to change my shooting style a bit.
