Linköping was third in the women’s league with a worse goal difference than Hammarby before the meeting with Kalmar. They needed to win by big numbers to really keep the chance of taking home the SM gold.
And the goals – well, they really rattled in. When Cathinka Tandberg completed her hat-trick in the 44th minute, Linköping had scored 6-1 (!).
Tandberg had a playhouse throughout the match because she also scored her fourth and fifth goals. Cornelia Kapocs had two complete hits in the match, which means that the Linköping duo now together lead the women’s all-svenskan shooting league.
– We are playing very well today, notes Cathinka Tandberg for SVT Sport.
Tyra Andersson and Agnes Karlsson, women’s debutantes, then scored two goals each at the end of the match.
Linköping won with the crazy numbers 15-1 and thus ensures that the hope for the SM gold is alive. Everything depends on how things go between Hammarby-Häcken on Sunday.
– We tried not to stress ourselves out, but of course it was great fun when we had to work a lot in the attacking game, says Tandberg.
15-1 is the goal record in the women’s league. In 1996, Malmö beat Öxabäck away with 13-0.
