Team captain Olga Ahtinen leaves the club and is ready for Tottenham, who buy the Finnish national team midfielder.
“Olga has been an important player for Linköping so it is a big loss. At the same time, we have a strong squad that has shown during the spring that they can perform even when Olga was injured. Now we are looking for a replacement,” says Linköping’s coach Anders Jacobson to the club’s website.
Last season, Olga Ahtinen was named the women’s league’s most valuable player.
Linköping is second in the women’s league, six points behind leaders Häcken.
