LineageOS Released Its New Version With Many Innovations

There is almost no other custom ROM for Android that is as popular as LineageOS. ROM has been around for years and is available for a wide variety of devices; keeping them running and relevant for years, even after the original device manufacturer has abandoned them. Typically, the team behind LineageOS quickly releases unofficial builds of their ROMs after a new Android version is released. The stable release comes a few months later, usually in April of the following year. With LineageOS 21, the team is making the most of its previous efforts, releasing its stable build almost two months ahead of its usual time frame.

LineageOS 21 was released to users

The rapid release of LineageOS 21 was made possible thanks to the team’s previous efforts to adapt the UI changes of Android 12 and 13 and the relatively simple requirements of Android 14. Along with bringing the latest version of Android, LineageOS 21 also improves most of the Lineage apps.

The ROM’s Aperture camera app has a revamped interface and supports all new video features enabled by the updated CameraX API, such as HDR video recording. System apps like the calculator, gallery, dialer, and messages have also received the long-overdue Material You redesign.
