It has been reported that the planned visit of the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Linda Thomas-Greenfield to Turkey has been postponed.
In a written statement made by the Permanent Mission of the United States to the United Nations, “Thomas-Greenfield’s visit to Turkey, which was planned for 9 May, has been postponed.” statement was included.
In the statement, it was noted that there was no change in Thomas-Greenfield’s visit to Brussels on 9-10 May within the scope of the “Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region’s 6th Brussels Conference”.
HE WILL VISIT TURKEY
Thomas-Greenfield, who was previously announced to visit Turkey on 8-9 May and to go to the Syrian border, made a statement to AA.
Speaking to AA correspondent before his visit to Turkey, Thomas-Greenfield said, “By visiting the border, I will see the latest situation and in this way, I will be able to better defend the border crossing. in your interest.” he said.
Thomas-Greenfield said, “If the border gate is closed, it means thousands of Syrians will go hungry, and I don’t think anyone will want to see it. That’s why I focused on success, on keeping this border open. There can be no justification for closing the border.” explained in his words. (AA)
