Linda withdraws SEK 6,200 every month

Magnus Hedberg’s budget table shows that Linda spends, among other things, SEK 4,800 on transport every month, in the form of her car and two scooters. Under the other category are pet costs, mobile phone, cigarettes, shopping, dog shows and insurance. This amounts to a staggering SEK 13,200 a month. During the loan, SEK 8,000 is also put on the table, which means that Linda pays back SEK 6,200 every month.

Linda in Lyxfällan cannot afford to pay the dentist

To Magnus Hedberg’s horror, Linda’s most urgent bill is to be paid in two weeks. She will have her teeth fixed for SEK 35,000, which is not covered by any form of insurance. Linda’s proposed solution is to sell one of her scooters, which she bought just weeks before she found out she was going to have her teeth fixed.

– When you have loans, unsecured loans and credits, how come you buy a scooter for just over 30 cardboard?, asks Magnus Hedberg.

– An impulse purchase. I couldn’t get my old scooter to start. That same evening I was standing with a new scooter in my hand, Linda answers.
