We’ve known the German voice of Lilith from Diablo 4 for some time. If you think the lady sounds familiar, you’re right: the voice actress was heard in Diablo 3 before. What’s more, she greets ARD viewers every evening.

Who is Lilith?

  • Lilith serves as a major antagonist in Diablo 4. She is in the process of building a cult in Sanctuary.
  • Originally, the demon and daughter of Mephisto is even responsible for having created the world in the first place.

    Who speaks Lilith? In the original, Jessica Straus speaks the mother of demons. Straus has also voiced Lilith in Darksiders 2 and the Amazon in Diablo 2. The German voice of Lilith is Claudia Urbschat-Mingues.

    You know Urbschat-Mingues’ voice from the female monk in Diablo 3 and Niobe in the Matrix films, among others. But even more important: since 2014, her voice has been on television every evening with the famous sentence: “Here is the first German television with the daily news.”

    Her voice was heard for the first time in the Open Beta trailer and caused goosebumps. If you always have to think of Claus Kleber, Susanne Daubner or the weather report when you play Diablo 4: You’re welcome!

    By the way, it happens relatively often in gaming that such completely different roles come about. Many voice actors take on characters or roles that actually have nothing to do with each other:

  • Thomas Fritsch voices the barbarian in Diablo 3 and has long been the narrator voice of the three question marks.
  • Manfred Lehmann, the speaker of Duke Nukem, is the off-speaker of an image film for the Berlin police and the famous Praktiker advertising (20% off everything).
  • The voice of the female humans in Guild Wars 2 and Leliana in Dragon Age: Origins, Marion von Stengel was the announcer on NDR in the 90s.
