Destiny 2, Bungie’s free loot shooter, is actually going through difficult times. The latest DLC “Lightfall” disappointed many players with its story. There are also game errors and other problems. But anyone who now thinks that this has an impact on the number of players is wrong.

This was Bungie’s transition from Battle.net to Steam, in addition to the launch of the free-to-play New Light experience. At that time, Bungie still had some free content, such as “The Red Battle” and the first three seasons as an incentive, which attracted many players.

    Why is Lightfall so popular? The numbers should actually look different. Mainly because some custodians have even called for a complete overhaul of the game’s core mechanics so that it has a future at all.

    Bungie’s fresh start in 2023 is going well: Destiny 2 has had quite a rocky journey since its release in 2017. Overall, however, the numbers now offer an interesting and great insight into the level of player engagement.

    The game initially received mixed reviews from players, with many criticizing the lack of content and repetitive gameplay. However, to date, Bungie has steadily worked to address these issues, releasing a series of updates and expansions that have continually added new content and features to the game.
