Father Per and children Emma and Sigrid are on their way to Rud’s cemetery. In his hand, Per carries a plastic bag with candles and a lighter.
– We are going to light a candle for grandma, says Sigrid.
– … and for grandfather, older sister Emma fills in.
They are doing what thousands of Varmlanders are doing this weekend. Visiting graves and tinkering with their memories of lost loved ones.
– It feels good to bring the children, and keep the memories and stories alive about mother and father, says Per.
