James Cameron’s #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a monumental cinematic achievement that strikes a magnificent balance between technique and emotion. The 48 fps 3D experience offers some of the most breathtaking immersion I’ve ever seen. Felt like a kid again when I first saw T2. Astonishing.

Avatar The Way of Water: Imagine you were stupid enough to bet against James Cameron. Or the teenage alien Sigourney Weaver. Or giant whales subtitled with papyrus.
Light years better than the first and for sure one of the best cinematic experiences in ages. Streaming was found dead in a ditch.

James Cameron & Co. delivers another with #AvatarTheWayOfWater immersive, awe-inspiring master class in world building. Immersive, emotionally gripping and epicly entertaining, it’s an exhilarating ride. CG artifice melts away as we merely observe the characters’ humanity.

#AvatarTheWayOfWater is pretty incredible. I had faith that James Cameron would raise the bar with the effects, but these graphics are stunning. One stunning image after another. But what struck me the most is how the engineering feats always felt at the service of the characters and world-making.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is perhaps James Cameron’s sweetest, gentlest and most personal film. Maybe even his most emotional. He picks up all of his biggest hits, but he’s always completely sincere. He never leaves Pandora. He loves this family. In the end, so did I.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER: Yeah, never bet against James Cameron. I try to avoid exaggeration, but I’ve never seen anything like this from a technical, visual point of view. It’s overwhelming. Maybe too overwhelming. Sometimes I missed plot points because I was staring at a Pandora fish

I’ve seen #AvatarTheWayOfWater – if you think you’ve seen #Avatar, think again. The only repetition from the original is, that awe “has never seen anything like it.” Better than the 1st? Relaxed. The 3D water world and creatures are so surreal they are downright moving. There’s a big Titanic homage. A few Avatar 2 voices are more critical
Some less than enthusiastic Avatar 2 reactions find fault with the thin story with more than 3 hours length and room for improvement in character development:

Unsurprisingly, #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a visual masterpiece with rich use of 3D and stunning visuals. It suffers from a thin story and too many charactersto juggle it, but James Cameron brings it together in an extraordinary final act, full of emotion and suspenseful action.

Avatar: The Way of Water is an endless visual spectacle. It’s a better, more complex story than the first with solid emotions, but the characters could grow a little more. It’s definitely long and runs with incredible visuals and techniques that are the best with 3D.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER – visually stunning with a vastly improved script, lengthy but so what. I was less interested in the plot than the world exploration and the rich family dynamic. And a small part of me felt like I was watching both the future of cinema and the death of film.

So, #AvatarTheWayOfWater: liked it, didn’t love it. The good news is that 3D is good again (yay!) and the action is pretty incredible (especially in the final act). But many of the storylines feel like they need to stop and beginand the high frame rate was sometimes good and sometimes bad for me.
From the December 14th we can finally see Avatar 2: The Way of Water for ourselves. Then the sci-fi hype of the year starts in the cinema.
