“It is really dangerous,” says Rein Leen, who lives near the road. “People aren’t paying attention and there’s nowhere to go.” According to Leen, once you are on the road it is not safer: the high curbs mean that you as a cyclist cannot swerve if necessary. A bus stop halfway along the road does not make things any clearer. According to Leen, many people choose an alternative route if possible.
