Two people were hospitalized Friday after a crash between a tractor trailer and a car in Oxford County, police said in an update late Friday.

According to provincial police, at 8:45 am officers with the Oxford OPP, as well as county paramedics and firefighters, responded to a collision at Road 74 and 37th Line in the Township of Zorra, a community of 9,000 located in rural Oxford County. It includes the communities of Embro and Kintore.

Two occupants of the car were transported to hospital, the passenger in stable condition but the driver with life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the tractor trailer wasn’t injured, police said.
The section of 37th line between Road 68 and Road 74 was closed for several hours to investigate, but has reopened, police said.
Police said the investigation was ongoing, but thanked the public and businesses for their patience and co-operation during the road closure.

One arrested after probe leaves school under lockdown
One person was arrested Friday in Tillsonburg after a weapons call put a local school under lockdown.
Oxford OPP says that at about 1:30 pm, officers responded to a “weapons-related call” on Morning Glory Drive near Trillum Drive for what police initially called an active investigation. As a precaution, South Ridge public school was placed in what officials called a “hold and secure,” which was later lifted, police said.
One person was taken into custody, and there was no threat to public safety, police said.
Police were expected to be canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and video surveillance, police said.
