It was at the beginning of April that 12-year-old Archie Battersbee was found unconscious in his home. He was taken to hospital where he has been treated since then. Now the British authorities have decided that his life-sustaining treatment will end at 12 o’clock on Wednesday.
– It’s heartbreaking and stressful and it shouldn’t be allowed, says Archie’s mother Hollie Dance.
After about a month in hospital, it was determined that the boy’s brain stem was dead. In court, it has therefore been decided that the health care can end the boy’s care as they believe that the boy will die within a few weeks even if the care continues.
Archie’s family are upset and devastated by the decision.
– No parents should have to go through this, says his mother.
