Utrecht – “You are never alone.” the young protagonist Lexje learns from his father. But God, as his father is referring to, cannot drive away the boy’s loneliness. The puppet show Winterwater tells the story of the boy who grows up in a strictly religious village and is an outsider. “He is too curious for those around him. He has many questions about God, whether he can hear and see him. Childish, beautiful thoughts, but those around him don’t want to hear them.” says director Noufri Bachdim.
