“The perpetrator acted according to a well-thought-out criminal plan and he was so reckless when he killed the 97-year-old woman that the penalty should be life imprisonment,” says Göta Court of Appeal chairman Per Christensen in a press release according to NA.
It was last fall that the woman disappeared from her apartment in Örebro municipality. After finding her walker at Svartån, the woman was found dead in the water. The 46-year-old man was already in custody, then suspected of kidnapping, when the body was found.
The murder victim and the perpetrator had known each other for a few years. The man has also been convicted of two counts of aggravated embezzlement.
