A 61-year-old man was convicted on Thursday in Stockholm for a serious violation of international law and murders committed in Iran in the 1980s. The punishment is life imprisonment.
The man, Hamid Noury, worked as a prosecutor at Gohardash Prison. He was thus involved in the executions of over a hundred people.
Noury was arrested by Swedish police at Arlanda in November 2019. He has been in custody since then.
About 70 witnesses and plaintiffs appeared during the trial, which lasted 92 days.
