According to the statement made by the Pakistani army, on the night of 12-13 July, Lieutenant Colonel Laik Baig Mirza was abducted in the city of Ketta in Balochistan province by an aggressive group of 10-12 people while returning from his home with his cousin.
During the rescue operation initiated by the army, clashes broke out between the attackers and the security forces.

In the ensuing clash, 2 attackers were neutralized, while Lieutenant Colonel Mirza was killed by the attackers.

In a statement on Twitter, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that he was deeply saddened by Mirza’s death and emphasized that the security forces would bring those responsible to justice.
